Kendra, you turn 18 today.  I remember the last time I seen you out.  You were working at Pamida in the jewlrey department and as soon as you saw me you came over so excited you just got a job.  You never looked more beautiful and grown up.  I was so proud of you.  The jewlrey was 60% off so I asked you how much a $100.00 necklace was 60% off and you said "ahhhh I don't know" and Kolin who had just turned 10 said " duhhh $60 dollars maybe" shook his head and called us blonds.  That was the last time I laughed with you and its a time I think about a lot.  I had been friends with your mother for a long time, but that day I didn't think of you as Gail's daughter, but as my friend and looked forward to us getting to know each other on this new level. If you were here today, I know you would have a bunch of your girlfriends over right now cheering that school is cancelled and you get to bumb around all day. Your grandma would be already working on your birthday cake and your mom and Abby would be bursting to take you shopping at Fashion Bug or knowing Gail she probabley already gave you your gift - all she ever wanted is to make you happy - you were and will always be the light of her life and I thank god everytime I think of you that I had a chance to share in it and had the chance to have you in my life.
